Send Mail to Students or Guardian through Outlook for Office 365 inside PowerSchool

Description:

Send emails to students/guardians using your Outlook for Office 365. This will also keep a history of all the emails sent to the student/guardian through both the admin and teacher portals.

Installation:

  1. Log in to PowerSchool as an admin and navigate to Plugin Management Dashboard.
  2. Click Install to add the plugin.
  3. Add OutlookPlugin.zip file.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Find the plugin “Outlook for Office 365 Mail Plugin” from the list and click the enabled checkbox.

Instructions:

For Outlook / Office 365 API:

  1. Log in to PowerSchool as an admin and navigate to System >> API Settings (Under AV Outlook for Office 365 Mail Management)
  2. Follow steps under “Azure Application ID”

For TinyMCE API:

  1. Log in to PowerSchool as an admin and navigate to System >> API Settings (Under AV Outlook for Office 365 Mail Management)
  2. Follow steps under “Get TinyMCE Client ID and API Key”

Send Student / Guardian Email (Admin):

  1. Go to Student Profile
  2. On the left navigation bar, click on New Email under Email header
  3. Click on the link to login into your office for 365 / outlook account to authorise powerschool to send email

Send Bulk Email (Admin):

  1. Select group of students
  2. Click on Send Mass Email
  3. Click on the link to login into your office for 365 / outlook account to authorise powerschool to send email

Allow Teachers to Email:

  1. Log in to PowerSchool as an admin and navigate to System >> Email Security (Under AV Google Mail Management)
  2. Change “Yes” next to Allow Teachers to Send Email

Send Student / Guardian Email (Teacher):

  1. Go to Student Profile through Bagpack Icon.
  2. Select New Email from the student screen dropdown.
  3. Click on the link to login into your office for 365 / outlook account to authorise powerschool to send email

Send Bulk Email (Teacher):

  1. Click on Email Icon next to your class.
  2. Click on the link to login into your office for 365 / outlook account to authorise powerschool to send email
